Hero Arts: Unity Collection

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to my blog. I was given the opportunity to work on this wonderful set of stamps by Hero Arts in collaboration with Dana Joy and Pocono Pam.

I feel grateful and honored to be part of this conscious effort of inclusivity, love and respect. I feel proud that Hero Arts (a company from my childhood home, Richmond, California) is using their platform to amplify diversity awareness. I am also very happy for Dana Joy and Pocono Pam for their contribution and partnership with Hero Arts.

For my first card, I used Power to the People stamp set and Hands of Hope metal die set.

I wanted to keep this card simple with a strong message. To start, I lightly outlined with a pencil the inside of the of the heart so that I could freehand a world map. The map drawing was very light so I was not concerned to erase, I just colored with my Copic markers. Then I went on to color the different skin tones, I purposely did not color them in a gradient (light to dark, dark to light) fashion. I decided to add nail polish to all of their nails because I was inspired by Dana Joy‘s first card with United as One stamp set. Lastly, I chose “We all bleed the same color” sentiment from the Power to the People stamp set as an added statement of anti-racism.

Supply List:

stamps – Hero Arts – Power to the People stamp set and Hands of Hope metal die set

Paper – Copic X-PressIt Blending Card

Copic markers- E0000, E00, E31, E33, E51, E55, E59, E97, E99, YG17, YG91, B02, B04, and BV04

ZIG – Wink of Stell – GI Red

Ink – VersaFine CLAIR – Nocturne

For my second card I used Hero Arts- United Kids stamp set and as you can see, I spent a whole lot more time coloring.

When I saw first saw this stamp set I knew I wanted to have them in the uniform colors my children wear at their school. The children on the stamp set look like my own children and their friends so it felt natural to color them the way I did. I also wanted a pretty setting so I sat them on a log with a field of flowers in the background. The sentiment that is included in set was perfect for the imagery I was going for. To finish the pretty setting I stamped the butterfly (include in the set) approaching one of the flowers I drew in with Copic markers- it was the perfect size.

Supply List:

Paper – Copic X-PressIt Blending Card

Ink: Memento – Tuxedo Black

B0000, B34, B60, E71, E42, E43, E57, E79, E42, E43, Y35, Y38, YR27, Y21, Y26, E31, BV01, E33, E35, E04, R11, R22, RV34 BV00, E0000, E000, E00, R20, BV0000, N0, N2, V05, V09, V15, V28, G20, YG03, G21, T4, T8

7 Kids Crafts – Just have faith

Hello Everyone!

This week 7 Kids Crafts is sponsoring our friends over at at Crafting of Hue.

To color her up I used both Polychromos and a few Prismacolor pencils. For the sky and clouds I used both Distress Oxide and ColorBox inks. The sentiment clear stamp is from The Greeting Farm called Light of the World. This time I kept the card very simple because I wanted to focus on the angel that reminded me of some Harajuku dolls I have seen before. Next time I color one of these I will add more fun colors to the hair.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a colorful day!

7 Kids Crafts: Angels Sing

Hello Crafty Friends,

Hope all is well. Today I figured I could work on a Christmas card since I don’t have many done yet, yikes!!! For this Christmas card I wanted to use this sweet angel by Dreamerland Crafts http://bit.ly/31XY14C called ‘Let Your Voice Sing,’ if you check you the link you’ll find a lot more cute stamps. The sentiment is by Kraftin’ Kimmie I hadn’t used my Karin Brushmarker Pro markers in a while so I decided I had to play with them before I get extra rusty. haha After I was done with with watercoloring with Karin Brushmarker Pros and a basic brush I used Polychromos pencils to add a few details. The background was done with Distress Oxides. I created a video showing how I colored her up and after it’s edited I will add it to this post.

TGF Cheeky Deco- Roaring 20’s Birthday

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today I wanted to feature a card I made with an image I colored for the 30 Day Coloring Challenge set by Kathy Racoosin. You can find more information about the 30 Day Coloring Challenges over at https://www.thedailymarker.com/ I did not do all 30 days but I did more than usual and I also colored behind the scenes because of Design Team work. This pretty Cheeky is not for a DT assignment but oh how fun it would be to be on the TGF team or at least dream about it right? heehee

I was asked to make a birthday card and I thought this image would be perfect for the assignment. I wanted that Roaring 20’s vibe with the gold, black, silver and red. I’ve been having lots of fun mixing up slim dies from Mama Elephant. The ‘happy’ and ‘birthday’ words are by Elizabeth Craft Designs and the Alphanumeric Shadow Numbers are by Tim Holtz/Sizzix.

Thank you so much for stopping by.
